Fees:
Individual sessions are 50 minutes long and the fee is $180. Couples and Family sessions are also 50 minutes long and the fee is $200.
The 90-minute session is often recommended for couples sessions and family sessions. These sessions are often complex and multiple agendas must be addressed so that all parties involved are able to benefit. The 90-minute session provides the benefit of being highly productive but it can be very intense. Consultation will be required to see if this is a good option for you and your loved one(s). The 90-minute session fee is $265 for couples and families.
FAQs:
1. Do you take insurance? Jess is exclusively in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield. For all other client’s superbills will be provided which can be submitted to insurance for reimbursement for services paid. Payment is expected at the time of service.
2. What if I miss my scheduled session or need to cancel? 24-hour cancellation policy: if a client no-shows an appointment or cancels less than 24 hours in advance of the scheduled session, the therapist will charge the cancellation fee – which is the normal hourly session rate. Allowing more than 24 hours of notice enables the therapist to provide that open time to another client in-need. *Exceptions are allowed in emergency situations (i.e. serious illness or injury) and at the therapist’s discretion.*
3. What is a first session usually like? There is a lot to accomplish in the first session. The primary objective will be to accomplish a working therapeutic alliance. The foundation of the therapy relies on accomplishing this task. In order to do this, Jess will be trying to gather information about what has brought you to her office, and what it is that you specifically are trying to accomplish. It is not uncommon to discuss family history, history of experience with being in therapy, relationship history and the current landscape of the client’s daily life.
4. When will I start to feel better? Most clients experience some relief after the first session, however it usually takes several sessions for client and therapist to establish a solid working relationship. Client’s often come in thinking that they want help with one thing, and then are surprised to discover that the root of their problem may be something quite different. It is not uncommon to discover underlying issues that need to be addressed in order to achieve relief from symptoms or increase satisfaction with life. The relief of knowing that support is available and expected helps most people to start feeling better immediately. Changes in behavioral patterns and thought processes may provide relief in a matter of weeks or months. The benefits of spiritual, existential, and psychological healing can be experienced rapidly, and over an extended period of time as the therapeutic process is unique to each individual’s needs, goals and desire’s.
